Imagine the experience of living in Tulum, Quintana Roo; magic town, preferred by young people to work, party and relax. Today we show you the panorama of living in Tulum day by day, like a local.

What does Tulum offer you?

It could be said that Tulum is divided into two, Tulum town and Tulum Hotel Zone.

On the one hand, in Tulum town, you can find grocery stores, self-service stores, supermarkets, small plazas, clothing stores, handicraft stores, restaurants, coffee shops, bars, nightclubs, pharmacies, hotels, among other businesses, it also has a gym. You will find soccer fields, basketball, baseball field, and spaces to exercise in the Sports Unit of Tulum called “Unidad Deportiva de Tulum” (with free access), on Kukulkan Avenue and a few meters from the main avenue of the town, Tulum Avenue. In downtown and its surrounding neighborhoods you can find some properties for sale and many options for rent, from studios to equipped and furnished houses.

On the other hand, we have the Hotel Zone of Tulum, where the public and private beaches are located, with several options of hotels and boutique hotels facing the sea, as well as restaurants and beach clubs. This area is located on the coastal strip, on the Tulum – Boca Paila road. It can be accessed by car or by bike. It is not advisable to go on foot, from the town to the hotel zone, from the town to the beaches, or from the public beaches to the private beaches; since the distances are long; and the sun, intense, during the day.

If you do not have a car to transport you, the ideal is to rent a bicycle or buy one, just use the appropriate equipment, and hydrate well. You can also find other means of transportation, such as taxis, for example; although generally the locals take public transport. There are two public transport routes in the town. The first goes from Parque Rotario, in the center of Tulum, to the Hotel Zone, and back. The second goes from the Center, from Parque Rotario to “Fraccionamiento las Palmas”; and on return. For longer distances, you will find the Vans that go from Tulum to Playa del Carmen, from Tulum to Felipe Carrillo Puerto and buses that go from Tulum to Playa del Carmen, Cancun, and many other places in the state, and from other places in the Mexican republic as well.

Once you start your day and go to work, when you finish your work you can include some physical activity in your routine, - we already mentioned the options you have and the means by which you can get there. – To rest, relax or meditate, you can be at home, or go to a park in the city, one more option is to go relax on the sand of the beach and swim a little. Another very good option is to take your bicycle or your car to get to one of the many cenotes in the area (keep in mind that the general hours of the cenotes are from 9 am to 5 pm and they have an entrance fee). It is important to bring enough water, a towel, sandals, goggles and a life jacket in case you do not know how to swim.

Return home with the satisfaction of having lived your present and having made the most of your time, surrounded by nature. Cook something or try some local food on Osiris Sur street, at an affordable price.
